MALANG. On Tuesday, 20 May 2025, at 12.30 WIB, Cita Nuary Ishak underwent her Ujian Kelayakan at D14 105 Ruang Sidang S2 & S3, Faculty of Letters, Universitas Negeri Malang. Prior to this examination, Cita had successfully completed her Seminar Hasil on 5 May 2025. The examination panel of her Ujian Kelayakan consisted of supervisors Prof. Dr. Yazid Basthomi, M.A. and Nurenzia Yannuar, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., along with examiners Prof. Drs. Bambang Yudi Cahyono, M.Pd., M.A., Ph.D. and Evynurul Laily Zen, S.S., M.A., Ph.D.
Cita’s dissertation is titled Hypes in Academic Texts by Indonesian EFL Learners, which explores promotional language or hypes in academic texts like theses and student-authored research articles. The one-hour session centered on comments and suggestions from the board aimed at improving the quality of the dissertation. At the end of the session, the board unanimously agreed that Cita may proceed to the next stage – viva voce. This marks a significant step forward in her doctoral journey.
